The easiest high-calorie snack I make every week for my kids (2 ingredients, 2 minutes)
I did not think something this simple would make a difference.
But this has become one of the most consistent things I do every week to help my kids get in extra calories.
The 2-ingredient base recipe
You only need:
- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
Optional:
- splash of vanilla extract
How to make it
- Chill your bowl and whisk attachment for about 10 minutes
This is the difference between soft and fluffy vs flat and runny! - Pour in the cold heavy cream
- Start mixing on medium speed – level 4 for a Kitchen Aid Mixer
Once it thickens slightly, increase to high (level 10) - Add honey or maple syrup while mixing
- Stop as soon as you see soft peaks
Do not overmix or it will turn grainy
That is it. It takes about 2 to 3 minutes total!
The real magic is how you serve it
1. With berries (this is my go-to)
Add:
- strawberries
- blueberries
- bananas
You get fiber + calories without it feeling “healthy”
3. On toast or waffles
Spread it like:
- butter
- or cream cheese
Add a drizzle of honey or a little cinnamon
4. Smoothie booster
Add a spoonful into:
- milkshakes
- smoothies
It instantly increases calories without changing taste much
5. Dip for snacks
Use it as a dip for:
- graham crackers
- apples
- pancakes
6. Chocolate version
Mix in:
- cocoa powder
- or chocolate syrup
Now it becomes chocolate whipped cream (this one disappears fast in my house)
7. Turn it into “Ice Cream”
Scoop it into a container and freeze it.
It turns into a soft, creamy ice cream texture without any extra effort.
- Freeze for a few hours for soft serve
- Freeze overnight for a firmer texture
You can store it in the freezer for up to 1 to 2 weeks. Just let it sit out for a few minutes before serving so it softens slightly.
Tips and Tricks that Help
This is what will make or break it:

(This is the difference between soft and fluffy vs flat and runny) - Always use cold cream
- Do not overwhip
- Taste and adjust sweetness (some kids prefer less sweet)
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 to 3 days
- Rewhip lightly if it softens
